SNP take 17 point lead in Holyrood voting intention
Our latest poll of 2,051 Scottish residents aged 16+ on their Holyrood voting intention has the SNP on 37% of the vote (+4 since May), with the Scottish Labour Party trailing behind on 20% (+1) and Reform UK in third with 18% (-1).
The SNP have also extended their lead in Westminster voting intention, now sitting on 35% (+3), with a gap of 16 points between them and Labour (19%, +/- 0) and Reform (19%, -2).
Despite the importance of such issues, perceptions of the Scottish government’s performance is underwhelming. With the sole exception of trains (+7%), there is no issue area where the government is considered to be doing well overall by the public, with particular ire aimed at the government on housing (-39%), local council funding (-38%), and drug harm reduction (-34%).
Despite their lead in the polls, the public as a whole have identified various areas where the SNP could perform better in government. They cannot afford to rest on their laurels.
