Survation is Recruiting a Client Development Executive

Location: Hybrid in London-based Survation office
Time commitment: 5 days per week, including 3 days in the Survation office ; remainder flexible/remote
Salary: £27,500 – £30,000 depending on experience, plus performance Bonus eligibility
The Role
Survation is a leading market research and political polling company, delivering high-quality insights to businesses, charities, media organisations and government bodies. Our work influences policy, strategy and public understanding across a wide range of sectors.
We are looking for a Client Development Executive (CDE), as part of a newly formed team, to take a supporting role in managing Survation’s bid submissions, proposal writing and development of public and third sector research working closely with the newly appointed Cient Development Director (CDD).
The Client Development Executive will report to the CDD and have the following responsibilities:
Supporting the CDD in identifying new tender lists to register and monitor these lists for bids and proposals to submit.
Process Improvement: maintaining proposal templates and developing a library in terms of Social Value paragraphs and prewritten content such as Survation experience, case studies and staff CVs.
Identify, recruit and maintain, with the CDD, a team of external sector experts for collaboration.
Conducting checks on proposal content drafted and where appropriate using tools to generate proposal content.
Maintaining a database of reasons for losing bids and chasing for reasons when none forthcoming.
Bid Management: supporting the CDD on managing the full bid lifecycle, from opportunity identification to submission, ensuring compliance with client requirements and internal standards.
Proposal Writing: assisting the CDD in drafting clear, persuasive and tailored proposals that effectively communicate Survation’s research expertise, methodologies and value proposition, while ensuring submission by the bid deadline.
Collaboration: liaising closely with research, commercial and senior leadership teams to gather the necessary information and insights for compelling proposals.
Taking notes at the monthly Survation Opportunities Meeting and distributing post-meeting action points.
What We’re Looking For
Experience: some experience in bid management and proposal writing ideally within market or social research, or a related field.
Communication: strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor content for different audiences (staff and client).
Organisation & Attention to Detail: ability to manage deadlines (especially final submission deadlines) and ensure bid and project accuracy.
Collaboration & Initiative: comfortable working with multiple teams and proactively identifying ways to improve processes in liaison with the CDD.
Technical Proficiency: proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel, while experience with CRM, bid automation, or project management tools is a plus.
Strong administrative skills
Desirable Skills and Experience
Knowledge of the public or third sectors and an ongoing interest in public policy
Experience both in checking content and content generation
Knowledge of social and market research methodologies and techniques
Statistical knowledge especially in terms of optimal sample size and design
Sales and marketing experience
