The Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Research Manager, with at least 4–5 years’ agency experience, to join our growing research team. This is an important role reporting to the CEO and Senior Management Team, designed for someone who is passionate about public opinion and research and keen to develop the Survation research team and to help grow the business.

This role is ideal for a candidate who has experience in project management and leading a team of researchers on projects. You will ideally have skills in all elements of surveys and qualitative projects and be eager to further develop your existing management (both project and line) skills. You will want to develop how research translates into real-world influence – whether in government, media, or business and this is the perfect opportunity, running project teams efficiently and productively.

You will have experience of client handling and advising them on research methodology and analytical techniques while also working closely with our analytic team.

You will already have experience in business development and sales working closely with our Sales Unit too. You will head up one of our Research Sectors aiming to achieve annual sales and growth targets.

– Lead on research projects, ensuring high-quality execution from start to finish delegating tasks to the rest of the team and monitoring the team’s delivery and performance.

– Work with real data, performing analysis, checking accuracy, and generating insights.

– Engage with clients, supporting them with research findings and contributing to reports that shape decision-making.

– Assist in writing public-facing reports, press releases, and blog posts, helping to communicate research findings to wider audiences, including policymakers, journalists, and industry leaders.

What We’re Looking For

– An established researcher with genuine passion for research and polling, with at least 4–5 years of agency experience.

– Experience with data analysis (academic or professional). Knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and basic data handling is required. Experience with statistical software such as R, Python or SPSS is a plus.

– Attend and lead client and supplier meetings alongside the project team, ideally having extensive experience in working with government, businesses, and the third sector.

– Interest in UK politics, public opinion, and current affairs.

– A very strong attention to detail and accuracy in research is critical.

– Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to explain research findings clearly.

– A proactive and flexible attitude, with a willingness to take on different tasks as needed.

Why Join Survation?

– The opportunity to work on real-world issues that influence policy, business, and public debate.

– Exposure to high-profile clients, politicians, and industry leaders.

– A structured career path, with opportunities to grow within the company to senior management level working with the Chief Executive and senior management team.
