Polling for Local Councils at Survation

Research for Local Government

Hear from the residents who never answer a consultation. Residents’ surveys, budget consultations and service research for councils, combined authorities and other public bodies, run to British Polling Council standards and priced for local government budgets.

What we do for councils

  • Residents’ surveys by addressed letter with an online option (push-to-web), with unique codes so every response is validated against an invited household
  • Telephone and face-to-face samples alongside, with targets by age, gender and ward, so the result reflects the whole borough rather than the people who respond online
  • Budget and council-tax consultations where the result has to withstand scrutiny at full council
  • Service satisfaction tracking, repeated on the same design so change over time is real
  • Stakeholder and councillor surveys, including our UK Councillors Omnibus
  • Live dashboards so officers and members can see responses by ward as they arrive

Working with you

Questionnaire development and cognitive testing before launch, privacy notice and member sign-off handled with you, resident queries answered by phone and email throughout fieldwork, paper questionnaires on request, and data delivered a week after close. We hold Cyber Essentials certification and are ICO-registered; a Data Protection Impact Assessment is completed at inception.

Recent work
